Door stops come in a variety of types, what are they?

These are seven types door stops that you can use in your home.

1. Floor Mount:

Made of strong metal, it can withstand repeated impacts. Because of its pre-drilled holes, it is easy to mount. There are also low-profile options available to reduce swinging hazards, especially in busy areas.

2. Mount your door or wall:

It is possible to mount door- or wallmount stops on any door or wall that might make contact. These stops can be mounted in many materials including aluminum, coiled springs, and angled.

3. Wall Mounted Door Stops

Wall-mounted door stoppers come with a mounting frame and a plate. These stops are simple to install and won’t block any floor space. To provide wall and door protection, these stops can be combined together with a knob or lever.

4. Roller Stops:

Roller stops are placed between doors to prevent damage. Rubber rollers allow doors to move smoothly and function seamlessly without the need to push one knob through another. You have two options for mounting your door: straight or curved.

5. Hinge Mount:

Install hinge-mounted door stops to attach to existing hinges. This protects the door without needing to be mounted on the wall or floor. For bathrooms where door movement can cause damage to toilets or vanity, hinged mounts are a great option.

6. Keepers:

Keepers can be used to keep doors open in public places and are often part of a protective stopper. They are typically a hook and latch or a small kickdown door stop. Keepers are useful for areas with high traffic and protection against bangs.

7. Adhesive Back

Adhesive back door stopspers are designed to be flexible in how they mount. Stick the adhesive backing to walls or cabinets.

Rather than passing gun control laws, why do people put door stops in their backpacks to protect their children?

1. Gun Control Laws

Gun control laws have been in force since the founding of the United States. More than 30 amendments to the constitution have been made regarding firearms. These amendments range from complete prohibition to total freedom. Since their introduction, firearm deaths have not been made any easier. The CDC reported that in 2013, there were 33,000 accidental firearm shootings involving children under 18. This is nearly 1 child per day. These murders are often committed in schools without supervision. Six times more Americans are killed by guns than in car accidents. Schools allow guns to be carried by children.

2. Door Stop

This is very sad. Arming children can make parents feel safer. Arming children is not the best way to stop violence, however. Many children who carry loaded weapons don't know how they should be handled. This can lead to accidental shootings. Gun safety should be taught to children. Children should not have access loaded guns. If we want to prevent violence, we must reduce the risk factors. A study published in Pediatrics found that having a gun at your home increases the chance of homicide by a factor.

3. Gun Ownership

America is home to a remarkable number of gun owners. Gallup estimates that more than 90 million Americans have a handgun. While a gun may not be considered as safer than a vehicle, many believe that it is more secure. Guns are everywhere. You can find them in your home, at work, in public places, on cars, and even on college campuses. You can commit more crimes if you have fewer guns.
